2 local men are facing drug charges following a traffic stop by Taylorsville Police. Officers stopped a vehicle on Highway 16 South last Thursday because of an expired tag. The driver of the vehicle 18 year old Jervane Joshua Parsons was charged with numerous offenses including Felony maintaining a vehicle for selling controlled substances and possession of Schedule IV Controlled susbstance, possession of drug paraphernalia, No Operators License, Operating a vehicle with insurance, and operating a vehicle with an expired tag. The passenger 22 year old Hunter Cantrell Parsons-Derr was arrested on a count of Felony possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, Possession with intent to deliver a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both men were placed in the Alexander County Detention Center under $12,000 and $20,000 bonds. Both suspects had initial court appearances scheduled for today ( January25th) in Alexander County. As the result of the traffic stop Taylorsville Police confiscated approximately 5 grams of marijuana a and Clonazapam tablets.
